Girls Guide to Cabo, Mexico
I am absolutely obsessed with Mexico. I studied Spanish growing up and I call it an excuse to visit as frequent as I do because I enjoy speaking the language and being surrounded with Mexican culture. I have actually been to Cabo 4 times now, Mexico as a whole 8 times, wow! Cabo is so close to LA which is why it’s easy for me to visit, but this time has definitely been my favorite experience! I love writing my Girls Guide blog posts once I’ve been somewhere a few times too. It’s nice to really encompass myself in the whole vibe before I write advice on where to go and what to do. Trial and error you may say. Ubers are really cheap here and whether or not you’re staying at an all inclusive property I would recommend exploring all the places Cabo has to offer!
If you’re here reading this and you are also a content creator or a photographer, it’s worth your while to reach out to all restaurants and hotel properties weeks in advanced because a lot of properties love to host content creators to expand their page views and get content created for their usage.
WHERE TO STAY:
Bahia Hotel
Bahia Hotel & Beach House- My number one recommendation of where to stay in Cabo. Montauk meets Cabo at Bahia Hotel & Beach Club. Bahia Hotel is a chic americanized property owned by New Yorkers with everything you need. Nespresso in the room, smoothie and fresh juice shop on the first floor, a private balcony in the room, and central air. The stylish rooms with high ceilings were hard to leave each day but the ideal location made it impossible not to. Bahia Hotel has a beach club, Sur Cabo, that we spent almost everyday at. Golf Carts bring you straight from your hotel door down to the beach club which is about 3 minutes away. They also have an outdoor pool and a swim-up pool bar. The staff was impeccable and made it feel like my home away from home.
A lot of my time on a trip is spent at restaurants. There are so many different restaurants in Cabo from warm and cozy places to upbeat and entertaining spots.
Here is my list of favorite Restaurants in Cabo:
I want to first point out that a lot of my favorite restaurants are all located in the same vicinity! They are also all located by my recommendation of where to stay, Bahia Cabo. These following properties are all located in the heart of Cabo!
Sur Cabo- Beach club paradise. This is Bahia Cabo’s Beach property. I came here numerous times when I was in Cabo and I would spend everyday here the next time I’m back! Upbeat and fun vibes with a saxophone player and great service. They really give you 5 star treatment at Sur and all the servers were so kind. I would recommend coming here for a beach day then going back for sunset dinner on their porch. I loved the seafood pasta, it was so elite!
Bar Esquina- Located in Bahia Hotel. This hip Mexican-Mediterranean restaurant is definitely a favorite! I was joked to by a friend that I live here and it’s true. It’s a chic going spot in Cabo opposed to all the chaotic spring breaker spots. The outdoor covered terrace and romantic dim lit setting makes it also a perfect spot for a chic date night. Enjoy live music and get the catch of the day and think of me! 🎣 Esquina also is my morning spot for juices & smoothies. My personal favorite is the sun lover.
Rooftop 360- Iconic views of all of Cabo. Rooftop 360 is located in Corazon Cabo. Amazing sushi that we went back and got again for our boat day. The shrimp tacos are also, may I say, the best I’ve ever had.
Corazon Cabo Beach Club- PINK Beach Club! All the vibes here, pink couches and great music. Watch the sunset here and you’ll feel like you’re living in a dream!
Hacienda Cocina- This place was a dream and the service was impeccable. Not only was the vibe incredible, photos below, but the food was also amazing. Everything we got had me more obsessed. We started with the chips and salsa and ceviche. The ceviche was decorated with edible flowers and there were 3 salsas from mild to spicy. Our favorite of the night were the tacos. We got both the crispy tuna tacos and the shrimp & octopus duo, I may go back to Cabo solely for these. The views from the table overlooked the beach and we enjoyed the spectacular sunset view. Make sure to book your reservation for during sunset! My favorite drink was the mezcalita, it’s a take on a margarita but made with mezcal, it was perfectly spiced with a pink salt rim.
Ediths- Authentic Mexican restaurant with colorful decor and beautiful art. The ceiling is covered with colorful lanterns and you are surrounded by gardens.
The Office
The Office- The Office is a spot that you cannot miss during your Cabo trip. It’s beautiful colors and authentic Mexican feels are a sight to see. It’s next to Mango Deck (the aggressive party spot) so can get a little loud but it’s decorations and vibe is hard to beat. We went for breakfast and it was actually the best breaky I have ever had. I got the Mexican avocado omelet.
The following restaurants are a drive away from the areas above but well worth your drive!
La Botica Speakeasy - This spot is a secret in Cabo, and I’m spilling. It’s located in Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort. La Botica Speakeasy features live jazz, including Afro Cuban music, the earliest form of jazz that emerged in the 20s. Cuban singer and entertainer Rosalia de Cuba takes center stage performing Cuban, Caribbean, Latin and international rhythms. She was amazing, the energy was immaculate and my time here will be remembered forever.
Arbol - Also located in Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort. This magical restaurant with lantern candles hanging from the trees. Arbol’s elevated coastal cuisine showcases the bounty of the sea with delicate Asian influences and a trove of exotic spices from India and the Far East.
Waldorf Astoria - This place is so chic. it is it’s own secluded atmosphere where you have to go through a long cave tunnel on a golf cart to get into the property. When you get inside the stretch of the property is half pool overlooking the beach. They make it feel very exclusive but if you just express that you want to get a drink for sunset their they will be glad to have you. It is a special place because it is on the Pacific Ocean side meaning that the sunset is perfectly setting in front of you during your stay. The staff, especially Ricardo, is impeccable. Everyone was so nice and keep you wanting to stay all night!!
Flora Farms- Organic farm restaurant north of San Jose del Cabo. Flora Farms can definitely be an all day affair as they have a cafes, shops, restaurants, a spa and even offer cooking classes in their culinary cottages. The airy, rustic-chic property is also well known for hosting iconic events and weddings. Be sure to stop by the grocery shop and get yourself the gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookies! Also watch your step, because you may bump into a family of geese, turtle or a large iguana grazing through the property. This hideaway spot in the mountains also has private residences where I dream to live someday!
Additional Recommendation of Where to Stay in Cabo: Tesoro Cabo
An all inclusive option right on the Marina! The food here was amazing. The breakfast buffet had an omelette station and I enjoyed a freshly cooked vegetable omelette every morning we were here. They treated us with champagne in the room to start our trip and it was so special! It was my first time staying by the marina in Cabo and it was really cool. The marina is a fun vibe with a lot of local restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend Arts & Sushi on the marina for some of the freshest sushi you’ve ever had!
ADVENTURES in CABO:
Rent a boat- A must. We rented a boat called Bad Romance and it was so nice. We had a driver and a guide on the boat for only $250 for 2 hours.
Ride horses- Riding on a horse on the beach in Cabo is a forever memory for me. Definitely would recommend.
Beach- Bring your SPF and hit the beach everyday but careful in the water as the current is extremely rough and can knock you over easily. An epic place to surf (if you know how.)
Ride a camel- A short but sweet experience. Riding camels on the beach in Cabo was a very cool experience but I would recommend riding a horse over a camel if you are adventurous. The horse ride is a lot more exciting. On the camel you just sit and it was a long wait to be able to get on. The camel handler kind of just dragged us and a group of people along the beach for 15 minutes tops. You also weren’t aloud to take your own photos which was very annoying. They claimed it was a safety hazard but it was definitely because they wanted you to buy the $100 photos at the end. We got yelled at for still doing so LOL. The ride was $60 a person to note.
I hope you love Cabo as much as I do and if you’re heading there please reach out to ask me for any more recommendations or advise! Overall, I would say Cabo is a safe area but be aware of your surroundings and try to stick with a friend.
Thanks so much for being here! You reading this makes me happier than you know!
