Girls Guide to Miami, Florida

Hey babes! I hope Summer is treating everyone well. For me it’s my favorite time of the year. I still have that schools out for the Summer feeling in me each year despite how old I am. Summer means letting go, being free, eating ice cream anytime you want, and drinking wine on a rooftop on a Monday because you can! With everything reopen it feels like it’s already a summer to remember. This past week I spent my time in Miami, Florida for Swim week.

Miami Swim Week is essentially Fashion week but for swimwear and how appropriate for it to be in the sunny city of Miami. It is much more relaxed than New York Fashion Week and everyone has an easy going island time vibe. Even when we thought we were running late to shows, we weren’t because they were running even later. Although we spent most of our time going to shows and events I’ve gathered the most epic spots you must hit for your upcoming visit to this retro chic city!

Miami seems to always have an aesthetic spot for pictures but before heading to Miami there’s a few things you definitely need to note! Miami is not the safest place to visit and definitely the type of place that you need to use the buddy system. For someone who does a lot of things alone I honestly felt pretty uncomfortable doing that here. There are also a lot of homeless people throughout the city and it is pretty dirty. When we left an event or show at 11pm it seemed impossible to find a place to eat anywhere. We even ubered to a couple of options that people told us to go to and they were all closed. Miami is definitely the place to go if you are interested in clubbing, a lot. I am definitely indecisive about clubbing. Sometimes I have absolutely no interest and other times I am totally for it. Miami definitely has the affect on you that you want to club. I mean if the restaurants are closed what else are you gonna do!?

If you’re like me and run around all day and need a late dinner Pane & Vino is your spot. At Pane & Vino I felt as if I had escaped the Miami heat into a chic grandmothers Italian home for dinner. Every detail was so thoughtful with an Italian vintage touch. The place settings were eyelet, the curtains lace, rose wallpaper, and the wall art was old photos and pottery seemingly straight from Italy. Wine bottles perfectly hung around the room and dried flowers placed flawlessly. The menu cover was a beautiful floral art with writing “Eating is a necessity, Eating well is an art.” I felt that. It was so cozy with homemade pastas and an amazing eggplant appetizer. I’ve been manifesting a trip to Italy and this definitely gave me all the feelings of being there. I won’t lie I’d go back to Miami solely for this place.

More Restaurants to go to:

Swan- PFG goals! This pink restaurant has my heart. Chic spot with Euro cuisine & a garden-like interior. They also have a sidewalk cafe!! Did I just wake up in France? Swan also turns into a really fun club after dark. It was my personal favorite.

Malibu Farm- It’s iconic location in LA on Malibu pier has made it famous enough to make it’s way to Miami. The location in Miami is also epic with an ocean view and shaded by palms. You must get the watermelon juice!

Carbone- A sophisticated Italian restaurant also seen in NYC. Go here for a date night in my opinion.

Baoli- Sushi happiness. This place is a party at dinner, it’s always someones birthday or a group of people

Where to take photos: SLS South Beach, Fountain Bleu, Versace Mansion, Tropics, Rooftops, Lifeguard posts.

I only have been to Miami once before this trip and I definitely think there is a lot more to see. I have heard a few times that Miami is the “new LA.” I’m not convinced but it’s definitely a tempting place to visit again!
